Township plats, 1814-1816.

Township plats are for townships one through five north and ranges one through ten west prepared by the Surveyor General for use in the Edwardsville Land District Office. Entries on each plat include township and range numbers; section numbers; each section's acreage; and quarter section; number of chains in each interior line; bodies of water; and terrain description (i.e., primarily prairie or timber). For private surveys designation includes survey and claim number; claimant name; and claim acreage.
